Everyone needs a pep talk once in a while...

Two fabulous ladies of Crop Circles, Natasha Connolly and CoraLee Kilfoy, posted daily challenges for us members during the month of February.
I'm going to show a few of my pages!
I didn't complete all the challenges (nor am I posting all I completed) as I was busy visiting with my sister and baby nephew.
(Wait a minute! That coffee tag looks familiar! See it HERE).

The recipe for these are HERE.

Enjoy!

CCC # 027 Tags Challenge: Use a Negative

Hi All!
The March (really, are we halfway through March already?!) Tag Challenge is up
Forget focusing on the positives, it's all about the negatives!
I bet this is the only time/area I will give this advice.
Using the leftover, negative pieces from die-cuts and punches is right up my alley,
and a trick I have been using for years.

This tag has a special home, on a special bag, for a special present, for a super special event this Summer.

Now head on over to www.catherineandcathycreate.com and start entering the challenges!

Enjoy!

CCC#025 March challenge

Hey All!

Time again for another challenge at www.catherineandcathycreate.com!
Have you been uploading your projects?

This month's challenge is Luck o' the Irish, inspired by St. Patrick's Day.

As you've probably guessed by my past postings,
we don't make a big fuss over some occasions.

We don't really do much for St. Patrick's day
besides the kid's school projects and wearing green.

That doesn't mean I can't play along.

I made this card for an upcoming family birthday.

I must comment on how nervous I was embossing and sewing the gold foil paper, but I LOOOOOOOVVVVE the result!

The challenge is about using elements inspired by, not specific to.

Rainbows, gold, green, yellow, shamrocks, drinks, etc. on a project qualifies!
That means you can't count yourself out of the challenge just because you are like me!

Dig through your stash and create something (a card, tag, layout, anything) and upload to the March challenge at www.catherineandcathycreate.com
There's another monthly prize up for grabs, so don't delay!

Enjoy!

CCC #024 February 14 Tags challenge: Use a Weather Element

Happy Valentine's Day All!

This month's tag challenge at www.catherineandcathycreate.com
is to use a weather element.
Well now.
I was all ready to go in a different direction.
I started with a deep dark blue ink, salt, and water to create a snowy card.
The snow was driving me crazy.
Don't get me wrong, I love snow.
I just wanted a bit of sunshine.

The afternoon sun in through my dining room window makes it the best place in my whole house to sit and drink coffee.
I knew then what I wanted to do with my tag.

What surprises me the most about this Paper Pumpkin stamp set is how much I like and use it. To be honest, I wasn't a fan of the intro kit, until I had my paws on it.

Don't forget that there's a chance to win the Watercolor Happy stamp set from Stampin' Up!
Head on over and enter all three challenges to get you entries!

Check out the other Catherine and Cathy Create challenges for this month, both due February 28, 2014:
Monthly Challenge:  Doodle-ista
Cards Challenge: Gold-i-licious

CCC #022: February 2014 ChallengeHearts-a-Flutter

 CHALLENGE: "Hearts-a-Flutter"

February is heart month, with Valentine’s and all.
I never was much for the day, and while I am spoiled by my hubby (on a regular basis), we don’t make a big fuss of it.

For the Monthly challenge at www.catherineandcathycreate.com
I used three different stamp sets to create my scrapbook layout of my recent birthday girl (turned 7), when she was 3.

Her looks have changed as she’s become a big girl, but the spunky personality is still there.

Want to win some Stampin’ Up?
The "Happy Watercolor" set is this month's prize!!!
I want it!!!!!
Create your own version of “Hearts-a-Flutter”
and link away!

Enjoy!

Back on track, to Sunshine...

Hey All,
I know I have been M.I.A. with the exception of my DT posts for www.catherineandcathycreate.com, and thank goodness for them!
Without that kick in my pants I would have been completely out of the blogging realm.

I'm working on being a better housewife, mom, and person.
A complete 'gutting out' of every room is required I think.
More sleep has also been in the trial phase, but how anyone gets anything done with 8 hours sleep I'll never know!
I do my best work late nights. In front of the t.v., seriously.

This page started without a specific photo, but the idea for a photo that captured my message.
I'm also trying to accept that each project I do doesn't have to be rushed.
When I start something, I can't wait to finish it.
I want to accept that it's okay not to complete a project an hour.
Quality over quantity.

This layout took me a week.

FOR-EEVV-ER!

I added little things here and there, let the paste air-dry (F.Y.I. that rarely happens in my world, hardly used words in my vocabulary), assembled the papers in a way I liked, then let it sit again.
Kiddos were playing this week, and I knew that it was time for my photo.
The rest is history.

Enjoy!

Jan 14: Tags Challenge: Arrows CCC021

Jan 14: Tags Challenge: Arrows  CCC021

Arrows.

Well I had a plan to use the leftover negative strips from an older Paper Pumpkin kit.
I left them out, waiting for the perfect project to fall in my lap.
Which I knew I could count on CCC to give it to me.
Here it is the arrow challenge!

It's no secret I LOVE my coffee. This stamp set really sums me up.

Don’t forget their other two challenges for this month,
both due January 31, 2014:

Monthly Challenge:  Doodle-ista

Cards Challenge: Birthday Bo-nan-za!

There’s a prize and bragging rights!

Enjoy!
